Copilot Notebooks now supports JPG and PNG files as knowledge sources, allowing users to bring images directly into their projects alongside traditional documents. Copilot can use the content within these images, including text, charts, diagrams, and other visuals, as grounding context to help generate more relevant presentations, reports, and briefs.

We're rolling out new capabilities for Copilot Notebook audio overview that make it easier to navigate longer content with topic-based episodes, new audio formats such as Critique and Debate, support enterprise information protection with sensitivity labels, and expand audio overview context to more content types.

Copilot in OneNote can generate new content and directly edit when in edit mode. In this mode you can create, rename, and delete pages, sections, or notebooks as well as add or edit content in pages. Copilot can bring content from across WorkIQ as well as complete actions across other workflows such as creating Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files.

Multimodal capture enables users to transcribe audio, take images, and type notes in a single session. Copilot then creates a structured Copilot Page with insights and user-captured content, saved to a user-selected Copilot Notebook. Designed for capturing offline work moments—including in-person conversations, whiteboard sessions, and personal notes. This capability is already generally available on OneNote for iPhone and iPad.

Copilot Notebooks in OneNote now suggests artifacts to create, such as Word documents, Excel workbooks, and PowerPoint presentations, based on Microsoft 365 knowledge and the content in your notebook. Select the suggestion and Copilot will generate the artifact.

The new Copilot Notebooks design in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app for DoD, GCC, and GCC High clouds now lets users organize related chats, output creations, and references into a persistent AI workspace. Copilot uses the Notebook's accumulated context to ground responses, so work continues across sessions instead of starting over each time. While this is the quicker, light-weight Notebooks experience, you can still find the workspace-forward experience in OneNote.

Meetings as References in Copilot Notebooks bring Teams meeting content into the notebook experience, enabling users to ground Copilot on the discussions, decisions, and context that drive their work. By adding meetings as knowledge sources, users can connect transcripts, notes, chats, and shared content directly to their projects, enriching notebooks beyond files alone and improving downstream outputs like presentations and briefs.
