Hosting (GitHub Pages) and DNS (Cloudflare)

This site is served via GitHub Pages (GitHub Inc., USA) and the domain is resolved through Cloudflare. When you visit, these services process technically necessary data (e.g. IP address, time, requested page) in server logs. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (secure and efficient operation). Transfers to the USA rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

Messages between members

Messages sent through the community feature are stored on our servers (Cloudflare) for delivery and deleted automatically after 7 days (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Only a few new contacts per day are possible to prevent abuse. Deleting your account removes your messages immediately.

Contact and address details in your profile

You may optionally enter city, postal code, street, contact email and mobile number (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, consent). By default they are visible only to you; for each field you decide whether everyone, only contacts or nobody may see it. They will later be used for radius search. You can change or delete them at any time; they are removed when you delete your account.

Fonts

Fonts are served from this server; no data is sent to Google Fonts.

Embedded YouTube videos

Episode pages embed videos using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) from Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC. Your IP address may be transmitted to YouTube when the page loads. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. See policies.google.com/privacy.

Microsoft Clarity (consent only)

With your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25 TDDDG) we use Microsoft Clarity to analyse usage (e.g. clicks, scroll depth, page views). Cookies may be set and data transmitted to Microsoft. Without your consent Clarity is not loaded. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser; the banner then reappears. More: privacy.microsoft.com.

Community account, comments, badges (optional)

You may optionally sign in with a Google or Microsoft account. From the provider we only receive an anonymous identifier and your name (by default we shorten it to first name and initial; you can change it); we do not receive your email address. We store display name, optional short bio, comments, likes, reports and badges (legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, providing the community feature). Sign-in and storage run on our server at Cloudflare, Inc. (USA; Cloudflare Workers and D1 database, standard contractual clauses); a strictly necessary session cookie is set (no advertising, no tracking). Comments and profile (name, bio, badges) are publicly visible. You can delete your account and all its data yourself at any time on the community page. Comments can be reported and removed by us.

Browser push and email notifications (optional)

If you enable notifications we store your browser's technical push address and the selected language and send at most one message per day about new episodes (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; withdraw any time in your browser settings or via “Turn off”). For email we store your address and language after confirmation by link (double opt-in) and send via Resend (Resend, Inc., USA). Every email contains an unsubscribe link; the address is then deleted.

External links and sharing

Links to Spreaker, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, Deezer, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram, Reddit and others are plain links. Data is only sent to the respective provider once you click; their privacy policies apply.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection (Arts. 15–21 GDPR), and to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, e.g. Der Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg.
