Azure propose déjà de nombreuses options de stockage comme Blob, Files et Disk – alors pourquoi Azure NetApp Files ? Certaines charges de travail exigent une vitesse extrême et des performances constantes sous charge, où chaque milliseconde compte. Cet…
Generally Available: Support for large volume breakthrough mode
Large volume breakthrough mode in Azure NetApp Files enables extreme performance and scalability for demanding HPC and EDA workloads. It supports large volumes up to 2PiB, delivering throughput up to 80 GiBps, depending on workload characteristics. Large volume breakthrough mode uses six storage endpoints for each large volume ensuring consistent performance. Storage systems hosting breakthrough mode volumes are reserved for each customer to provide peak performance and not compete with other workloads.Key benefits include:
High-capacity scaling for large-scale, latency-sensitive workloads
Simplified network management with multiple storage…

Older updates (3)LaunchedAzure Updates Generally Available: Storage with cool access enhancement
QoS update with cool access enabled on Premium and
Ultra service levels improves how Azure NetApp Files balances performance and
cost for mixed hot and cool workloads. Throughput automatically adjusts as data
moves to cool storage, maintaining hot‑tier performance while enabling customers to
benefit from cool access at scale. This enhancement continuously optimizes pool
and volume throughput as cool access patterns change, delivering a seamless
experience without manual tuning.

In previewAzure Updates Public Preview : Microsoft entra kerberos authentication for Azure NetApp Files
Azure NetApp Files now supports Microsoft Entra Kerberos
authentication for SMB volumes. The capability enables users with hybrid or
cloud-only identities to authenticate through Microsoft Entra ID using
cloud-issued Kerberos tickets. This capability removes the requirement for
SMB clients to have network line-of-sight to Active Directory Domain Services
domain controllers in the authentication path. It helps organizations simplify
identity architecture, reduce infrastructure dependencies, and modernize SMB
access for hybrid and cloud-first environments.Learn more:

In previewAzure Updates Public Preview: Support for SMB Opportunistic Locking (Oplocks) configuration
Azure NetApp Files now supports configuration of SMB opportunistic locking (oplocks) for SMB and dual-protocol volumes. Opportunistic locks (Oplocks) improve SMB client caching and are enabled by default. You can configure oplocks on new volumes or update the setting on existing volumes. System default is the default selection and enables opportunistic locks on the volume. A cross-region replication destination volume can use an oplock setting independent of its source volume.
