Concept

Formula and query language for calculations in Power BI, Excel Power Pivot and Analysis Services semantic models.

Description

DAX defines measures, calculated columns and tables in a semantic model, for example year-to-date sales or a ratio that reacts to the filters in a report. Its filter context and row context are the key concepts to understand.

Skills in DAX are tested in the Power BI Data Analyst certification PL-300.
